Job Description

The Administrative Specialist (AS) is the primary customer-service interface with the Soldier-client. The AS works directly for the Contract Installation Manager (CIM) and the Liaison Officer (LNO). The AS receives clients, determines client needs, and schedules clients for services in support of meeting those needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing professional customer service by determining client needs and solving problems.
  • Interact with clients in person and answering calls to the center.
  • Scheduling clients for services provided in the data management system (TAP XXI).
  • Receiving mail and deliveries (with support from available staff members).
  • Monitoring and directing day-to-day Operations of the front desk and lobby.
  • Directing clients to appropriate transition support agencies (Veterans Affairs (VA), Mobile Transition Teams (MTT),

Soldier Readiness Program (SRP), Transition, etc.)

  • Maintaining office workflow and resolving client and counselor scheduling problems related to services.
  • Assisting with coordinating the Center’s TAP XXI System access and work orders.
  • Monitoring, order recommending, and receiving supplies and equipment and submitting external agency support

requests (automations trouble tickets, printing).

  • Assisting with on-boarding and training of new employees.

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 1-2 years of proven experience applicable to the position.
  • Customer service skills and experience.
  • Detail oriented and organized individual.
  • Maturity, integrity, and willingness to learn.
  • Requires strong communication, briefing and technical writing skills.
  • Adept typist; minimum of 60 words per minute ability.
  • Experience with software packages such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Applicants must successfully undergo a background investigation (National Agency Check).
  • Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred:

  • Certifications or training courses in typing or office software.
  • Working knowledge of the TAP program.
  • Working knowledge of government chain of command and transition policies.
  • Experience working with the military or with the government’s Transition Assistance Program.
